GoudieFX OTP
Pricing (Canadian Dollars)
DescriptionThe GoudieFX OTP or 'One Trick Pony' is a high gain distortion pedal with a low noise floor that was designed specifically for tube amplifiers with no lead/distortion channel. Don't be fooled by the name, this distortion pedal has a great sound and reminds me a dimed Marshall or Mesa head. This GoudieFX original design features a soft clipping front end driving a hard clipping back end, this combination yields a thick and harmonically rich distortion that's loads of fun :). I've always preferred using vintage type combo amps when gigging but I've never been happy with my options for pedal based distortion, if your DS-1 or MT-2 leaves you wanting something more then this distortion pedal is for you. The OTP is great for getting smooth violin like leads with loads of sustain (ala Satriani or Vai) as well as a chunky bottom end for power chord rhythms or heavy riffs. The GoudieFX OTP was designed using Les Paul's and Strat's into various tweed and blackface combo amps, it reacts well to single coils as well as humbuckers. The OTP delivers vintage sounding distortion/overdrive tones at minimum saturation settings and modern, tight Metallica type distortion at the maximum settings. Stacks nicely with other boost/overdrive pedals to give you a plethora of different tones, very versatile as a distortion pedals go. I've spent many months tweaking the design and testing the prototypes at gigs until I was 100% happy with results, I'm very picky when it comes to my distortion sound. Listen to the OTP in various configurations below to get a feeling for how the pedal will sound in your rig. Audio Files
