Description

The GoudieFX 808+ is based on the TS808 with component upgrades across the board. I've also incorporated my take on the popular less/more mod which yields less drive at minimum settings (clean boost like) and twice the saturation at maximum drive settings. This is great for many styles including alternative, jazz, blues, rock, hard rock and country, this is still an overdrive pedal however and would not be suited for heavy metal tones on it's own. There is a toggle switch that allows you to select either symmetrical (toggle UP) or asymmetrical diode clipping (toggle DOWN). Asymmetrical mode adds a Germanium diode in series with the silicon diode which gives you more clipping on one side of the waveform, this produces even order harmonics which gives the overdrive a smoother feel in my opinion. Symmetrical clipping is the 'stock' TS808 mode, the difference between the modes is subtle but audible. The 808+ is built using a new production JRC4558D, 1% Metal Film Resistors and High Quality Polyester Film Capacitors for the best tone with the least noise possible. This pedal comes in a dark forest green powdercoat finish with white silkscreening that shows very well on dimly lit stages

Mods

The frequency response of the 808+ can easily be tweaked, the stock TS808 cuts bass and treble achieving that mid range response that made the pedal famous. However, this pedal can be "opened up" by adjusting the filters and allowing more treble or bass to the output (or both). I can tailor the response of your 808+ to meet your specific needs based on your rig...just ask!
